Britney Spears is back on stage

Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Wednesday, May 2, 2007.

Pop star Britney Spears is back! People magazine says she took the stage last night for the first time in almost three years. She performed a 14 minute set at the House of Blues in San Diego. Spears reportedly sang some of her biggest pop hits like "...Baby One More Time." The singer's expected to make other appearances later in the week.

Anna Nicole Smith's daughter is now in the U.S. Dannielynn and Larry Birkhead flew from the Bahamas to Kentucky yesterday. They're reportedly visiting Birkhead's relatives before heading back to his home in California. "Access Hollywood" reports the baby was an easy traveler...she barely fussed throughout the day. Last month a DNA test showed he was the biological father of Dannielynn.

Rumor's are flying that comedian Roseanne Barr may be a candidate for the next host of ABC's "The View." Barr says she'd love to take the job if it was offered to her. But she does say no one from the show has talked to her about the position yet. The New York Post has said before that Barr is a possible candidate to replace Rosie O'Donnell, who's leaving the show in June.

Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan now has to wear an alcohol monitor...as punishment for drunk driving. E! Online reports he'll wear the device on his ankle for 90 days in addition to 5 days of community service. If the monitor detects alcohol, he has to wear it for another 90 days, and if the device detects it again he'll get jail time. The Los Angeles city attorney says it's a result of his recent drunk driving arrest in New York, which violated his probation from a 2005 DUI arrest.

The film "300" is leading the way with the most nominations for the 2007 MTV movie awards. It grabbed 5 nods including Best Picture. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" follows closely behind with four nominations. Other nominees include Sacha Baron Cohen who got 3 nods including best fight for the wrestling match featured in "Borat." Funny man Will Ferrell also grabbed several nominations for "Talladega Nights." The awards will be announced June 3rd with comedian Sarah Silverman as host.
