  • I probably have all the information you might be looking for on this group. Just check my channel out. I have this record signed by Manny Charlton along with The Red Hawks (Hawkes)

I have the names of the band members from Mark V in a video I made a video of this song with actual original photos of the band members and their "400 mile walk" that helped them make this record. Check out my channel!!

  • @nazfan01

    Thank you

  • "We made a record and came against the machine in London."

The people just cashed in on the publicity we had and after the record was made we were forgotten."

When Manny Charlton was asked why their band was called the Mark V, his reply was.

"I don't know where the name Mark V came from, we either had four or six guys in the band never five"

Manny leaves and joins The Red Hawks.

  • However following the release of the 45 'Baby What's Wrong' / 'Tango' it did little to change anything outside of London.

Manny Charlton explains, in the end this only alienated and aggravated music-biz tensions even more

    "

  • In a gesture of defiance and self-publicity, guitarist Manny Charlton and The Mark Five marched all the way from Edinburgh to London

The stunt worked and garnered great publicity. Fontana offered the Mark V a record deal' to get in on the action.

  • In the early 1960s there were many fledgling Scottish bands struggling in the music scene

A major factor holding them back was their remoteness from the main hub of the UK music business.

London was where you had to be and nobody was interested in anything outside its borders.

  • This ain't the Mark Four, who were never called the Mark Five. It's not Kennys' voice or Eddies' guitar.

  • If you can find it any names on your copy could you let me know ie who wrote it as there is so little info ?
