This is what I hate about soap type shows..you invest in a couple then the writers decide to not only break the couple up but they also try and make you forget the last 2 yrs of the show by re-writing history...making Dylan and Brenda a thing of the past like it was nothing and making Kelly and Dylan the loving couple that he can't do without..

I got hooked on this show a little late. I'm on season 6 now, right after Dylan's wife Toni gets killed. It's such a good show! I only wish that Shannon would have stayed on it.

@fancy0face I agree. I think that over time, he and Kelly did love each other but it wasn't a "Great love" like you said..it was a friendship love mixed with lust. I think that he really loved his wife, Toni, but not as much as he loved Brenda. I think if Toni hadn't tragically died in front of him, that their relationship would not have lasted on it's own and he would have ended up back together with Brenda. but because he lost Toni in the way he did, he could never really recover from it.

they so ended up together in my mind...I don't care about what the stupid writers wrote..they don't know what us fans know..they can't see how obvious it is that their connection is much deeper than what he had with Kelly. he and Kelly never really understood each other and they fought a lot even in their friendship..they had lust and they loved each other..but it was not a deep love. Kelly should have ended up with Brandon. it's so stupid. the writers messed up. we know the truth. :)

he and Brenda were soulmates..not him and Kelly..it was just intense lust and friendship with Kelly..but not real, true, deep love like he had with Brenda. Dylan and Brenda had that special love that went beyond the physical connection. they were meant to be together and if shannen had stayed on the show..I think they would have ended up together.

Beverly Hills 90210 WAS Brenda Walsh.
Even in the 4th season when she changed and was noticeably distant from the rest of the cast, she still shined brightest, maybe even brighter than before.
Though in the end Kelly and Dylan were together (sort of), I believe his heart will always belong to Brenda, and I'm so glad her last moment was spent with him.
