Substantial growth in areas such as IPTV, consumer voice and consumer and business broadband have required flexible, scaleable and cost-effective provisioning of services.
DWDM has evolved beyond serving as a long-haul application to become a key enabler in WAN, large enterprise, and campus LAN applications. Today, a new wavelength circuit can be remotely provisioned across the furthest points in a Carrier Class network, only requiring manual intervention at ingress and egress locations.
Cisco's leadership has been influential in enabling the use of Ethernet over DWDM, as carriers look to put Ethernet throughout their networks, even over optical transports.

I can procure this equipment if you need it cheap? I buy and sell grey market telecoms.

Yeah, its basically switches which routing capacity. Most of the time its extra software than needs purchasing from the vendor...

TMPLS and PBT are dying

Cisco might be good in IP/Optical networks, but in metro environment, PTN, based on T-MPLS and PBB-TE will be the future replaciing SONET and NG-SDH platforms, cisco is not supporting T-MPLS or PBB-TE, because these PTN NE will replace L2 routers which is a big market share issue for Cisco and it monopoly, already numerous carriers and operators have already asked for trials of PTN, such KT, DT etc.
