Wow! It's been months since the last time I uploaded a real video. Well hopefully this one will show everyone that I'm back, "knock knock," and I'm knocking.

Right, now you're all wondering why I've made another tribute to the Silver Lady. Well remember last year's tribute, how that turned out? Yah, you can thank our good friends from WMG for that. Plus, after finding this awesome song, I decided to have another go at making a proper tribute to "The most talked about train in America."

The song is called "Silver Thread" by Richard Luckin and Edgar Struble. Lyrics were by Mike Settle and the song was sung by Tyana Parr.

Last years CZ tribute: http://www.attherailyard.com/apps/videos/videos/show/2736369-california-zephy...

Happy 61st Birthday California Zephyr!

  • Looks like you shot alot of video of the rear of one of the South Wewst Chief's from a Private Car (with the dome shot being from the Silver Larait). Nice splice of scenes all in all.

  • @SF3751 A good guess, however, incorrect on both.

  • Cool Video & Song! Were you in the Milwaukee Hiawatha "Skytop" observation in that one shot? I've always wanted to ride in one of those!!

  • now if I could only find a song for the Crescent.

  • RFD TV shows a lot of documentary shows on railroad[s]. I believe it is called Trains and Locomotives. I recently saw one on The California Zephyr. That is where I heard this song. Very nice indeed.

To me, riding the Zephyr is the Route 66 of the rails.

My favorite way is east to west out of Chicago.

  • great Video and Music

  • Were did you get the music

  • @acmmd

Apparently I was forgettable. I do love my vocal, though. And, I really loved learning the history, the passion of Richard Luckin, and the wonderful musicality of the song. Truly beautiful and unforgettable!

  • @acmmd - I did the vocal. Actually had not heard the final mix until it was posted here. Thank you for writing a great song!! And- Richard Luckin, Thank you for sending me copies. The video is wonderful! -Tyana Parr

  • @acmmd It is a GREAT song. I'd like to say thanks for the efforts to make it happen.
