My loving family & friends.

I'm Mark Fucanan.

Also known as, "Monkiee Boi"

Born in Manhattan, New York.

Later moved to Houston, TX where my dance life began.
From ages 5 13, I perform traditional/cultural dances both local and state wide.

By the time I reached the age of 17, I had learned and become familiar with salsa, merengue, waltz & other types of ballroom. Break dance and hip hop is what I loved most. I practiced constantly in school & at home with friends, while performing with my local dance group (K.N.U.F.) & high school team (Cy-Falls). This is the age I started Hip Hop Choreography and haven't stopped since. =)

In 2006,
- I became a member of the 2nd Generation of SoReal (SoReal 2)
- Trained with SoReal, Marvelous Motion, etc
- Won 1st Place at Dance Houston '06 with Marvelous Motion / SoReal

From 2006 2007,
- I competed & trained with the FSA (Filipino Student Association) Modern Team from the University of Houston at Goodphil (Statewide University Competition)
- Won 1st Place for both years.

In 2007,
- I performed with SoReal at the Boogiezone BZ Global Showcase UCLA
- Winner of Best Artistic Achievement at Dance Houston '07

In 2008,
- Won 1st Place at World of Dance '08 with SoReal
- Winner Up on America's Best Dance Crew Season 2 with SoReal Cru

From 2008 - Present
- For about 5 years and going, I have danced and performed with SoReal Cru. I tour both nation & worldwide, teaching workshops and performing. Within the Filipino/Asian Community, we made guest performances on Wowowee & Myx TV. We headlined & opened for music artist such as, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Trey Songz & Drake. Until now, I constantly travel & teach with SoReal.

I have always been either a dancer or performer. It was not until September 2009 when I decided to become a hip hop choreographer myself. This is when I taught my first class in Houston. I've been teaching ever since and will continue to travel & educate what I've learned over the past years.

Personal Note: Dance is not my hobby or my job, but a true blessing that I intend to take full advantage of. I live everyday with the mindset to improve and love what I do. Growing up is a part of becoming a better person. From the first day I started dancing to this day, I am much better for it. =)

"The biggest risk in life.. is the one you don't take."
My risk, made me who I am today.
