In Canada - my Audi is brilliant in snow - but if conditions get slick - it doesn't matter how expensive your car or you tires--you aren't going anywhere...

It isn't the car, its the driver. My v70 t5 is putting down 350hp at the wheels and plows through winters in Wisconsin just fine. So far the only cars we've had better were our Land Rover Discovery and my awd Talon rally car.

I was running 190bhp through the front wheels of a colt czt and managed fine. you don't need 4wd just a bit of common sense.

@silvKEsx exactly what I was about to say :)

No car would manage to go up that hill with those tires starting from 0 there.

@Azureecosse And an XC60 is worse at off road... I should know... That's what my Fiancee drives. Me and Her Love Volvos, because of their looks, style and best of all... Safety... Knowing my kids are safe if some idiot driver, like your self, crashes into me, or causes me to crash.
Also You dont know my back ground, maybe I have came from a financially stable back ground. What has it got to do with you, and why would you care???

@MarkMck1994 Bull shit you are 22 you live in Glasgow , if you do indeed drive an XC 60 you knicked it The only 22 year old's that can afford to buy or insure a XC60 in Glasgow are either on the fiddle or loaded. I doubt you are loaded you probably driving your mums car or giving your mind a treat. Putting this video in context the XC60 is a 4x4 the volvo in the video is a 2x2, off course the XC60 would do better going up a hill. Dont know many steep hills in Glasgow but Gardner St G11

Why are they not trying to get in the soft snow on the side of the road? That has more traction than...ice.
Its not the car, its the tyres

Oi! I Drive an XC60 and it manages fine in the snow, even the horrendously steep hills of Glasgow in the snow.
