Sunday concert (19 July 2009) by bagpiper Robert Watt at Flagstaff's 2009 Celtic Festival and Highland Games. Here Robert plays his new (about 14 July 2009), original composition "Jim Thomson of Flagstaff", in tribute to the founder and manager of the U.S. Piping School; followed by the traditional tune "Mason's Apron".

  • A note on the spelling of Jim's name: it's "Thomson", not "Thompson". Sorry. I'll correct it if I can.

  • Yes, isn't it wonderful that he received such a tribute *before* his passing.

  • Jim Thomson passed away this weekend. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and students.
