Chris and Andrew Ewert modified a Toyota Prius, enabling the car to get 100 mpg. Combining power with the car's original nickle hydride battery, they installed a lithium ion battery which can be recharged by plugging it into a normal wall socket.

  • Nice work fellas. How long does it take to recharge a completely drained battery from plug in modification? Does the plug in mod draw a 120V? What is the total power output of the enitre battery system?

  • can I add that battery to prius 2008?

    and how much it cast?

    thanx

  • I wonder how far research has gone with the atomic battery. How safe will it be for use and disposal?

  • @amoringis Oh they're already driving those things. They're full of shit.

  • great work guys. how much did it cost for this type of conversion? my main prius battery has 184k miles on it and is holding about a bar over half way full i would assume between a 80%-50% charge. i would like to try and get more power into it cheeply

  • I totally agree with you! You would think that Toyota could get a Plug-In Prius onto the market like... NOW, but they haven't. The Prius is still an awesome car but a plug-in version would make it that much better! Thanks for the video guys!

  • I just saw 2 Prius plug in hybrid utility vehicles driven by Sempra Energy employees today. It is just a matter of time when plug in hybrids will be the most driven vehicles on the road. Goodbye internal combustion engine, OPEC,... conservative assholes!

  • good work guys ps the rabbit was the 1976 model it got 67mpg on deasle about twice that on gas

  • wow i was getting 128 mpg with my deasle vw rabbit but my brakes kept gieting sabotaged so l sold it the only modifacation was i turned the ideal scrow back a half turn and ran it on gasoline
