  • Yes, some of us locals still refer to the Roseville yard as SP; old habits are hard to break.

  • Actually, the Steam locomotives don't have the required braking systems for the rolling stock, so they have the diesels added on.

  • I think the diesels are a protection device in the event of a problem with 3985 and to provide an extra margin of safety with their braking power, if neccessary.
