I will never forget the day I received my Rolling Stone issue that month showing Kurt Cobain on the cover. Little did I know that there was an article with Layne standing on a stage wearing one of his signature vests with a mic in his hand explaining how his family had not had any contact with him in nearly two weeks. As I read on, my heart grew heavy learning of his overdose. The world has lost not only Michael Jackson, but before him Layne Staley.
