i struggled with picado for years till i started practicing picado on bass. i was amazed at how easy it was to practice picado on bass. give it a try if you haven't already.

Fuck the flack. You are learning WITH your students. Nothing wrong with that - and you point it out all the time, so there can be no valid complaints.
