I Don't Need No Doctor - Bare Knuckle Pickups Improv

A quick run through of I don't need no doctor followed by some improvising to give you an idea of the sound of the Brown Sugars by Bare Knuckle Pickups. I use a Mexican Tele with a 4 way switch into a Monte Allums Boss CS-3 compressor and a Marshall AVT150 combo with a little of its reverb.

As you can imagine, they sound so much better in the room. For anyone looking for tele pickups with a good clean tele sound but with enough in them to give a classic blues tone then I would highly recommend them. Ad the 4 way switch and you are very close to humbucking territory.

I don't mean to look so bored. I'm trying to keep my 'guitar face' under control :-)

would they suit a humbucker (bare knuckly VHII or stormy monday)? Im thinking of either these or the yardbirds

Thanks for the quick reply! One last little question! What positions are used for what on the four way switch? Both middle settings for humbucking?

The 4 positions are Bridge only - Bridge and Neck in Series - Neck only - Bridge and Neck in Parallel.

Thanks for the great vids! nice playing, love the end of this one! One question.. I plan on building a tele, and am thinking of getting bareknuckles. I like a blues sound, should I get these or do you think the yardbirds are more what I'm looking for. Might be a stupid question as you probably don't have experience with those :p

Thanks mate. The brown sugars give a great blues sound especially in the neck position. I'm not sure about the Yardbirds. I have not heard them but can honestly say the brown sugars are fab.
