Bruce opens a 1960 vintage Marx Toys playset for the first time ever! This event takes place at the 2007 Old Toy Soldiers Network convention in Schaumburg, Illinois. The big question, unfortunately answered No, was this: Will the playset have the extremely rare Little Girl Petting Kitty Cat? Aside from this disappointment, the opening was a delightful and educational occasion!

  • Love it thanks for posting this....

  • Those are such great toys. Someone is making some of the figures again, but I doubt we'll ever see that lovely tin work again. Aren't they beautiful?

  • Those were the real toys you enjoyed waking up to on Christmas morning!

  • I collect maxr playsets, got over a hundred of them-idiots make fun of my name cause they think it is swing set or something

  • C'est la magnificent! Archaeology? Now it's "Playleontology"! YES! Let's coin a new phrase! Digging up the past on old, vintage toys... be sure to see our "Untouchables" playset opening elsewhere on the You'!!

  • i remember opening my first playset. it was a delux north africa campaign playset. british, americans, and german figures. i am stiil and will always be a dedicated toy soldier collector.

  • Now days they make Deserted Crack Houses for the Kids to Play with. They come with discarded needles and old condoms.

  • This was facsinating to watch. It is like viewing the opening of a sarcarphogus (spelling?) from an ancient Egyptian tomb! Being a avid vintage toy freak myself, I wish I could have been there! Awesome! Feel free to view my vintage toy vids here on youtube.

  • Wish I could have been there to share the historic moment! Congratulations Bruce. Dana, thanks for sharing the event with the world. Best Regards Beverly
