Student static firing his solid rocket motor that he designed and built in the CP Technologies Solid Rocket Motor Design Class. The propellant is ammonium nitrate, magnesium powder and R20LM HTPB binder. The class is taught by John Wickman, a professional aerospace engineer. The motor is made out of PVC pipe and fittings with graphite for a nozzle throat. The exit cone is made out of Durham's Water Putty.
