I agree with the bit that Jesus wasn't a hippie. But what I love about JCS is that it shows the human side of Jesus. What would it be like to go your whole life knowing that you were going to be crucified?

@cdowg187 I would think that the "one major problem" would be that Jesus sins in this movie. Arguing over the fact that Jesus was indeed an olive-skinned Middle Eastern/Asian man seems a bit trivial when compared to that unjustifiable error.

He certainly wasn't european. But I dunno about dark skin. The Caucus mountains aren't too far off.

But if they were as dark as people insinuate then the bible wouldnt have noted that a black man helped carry the cross a little way for Jesus rather than just stating a man.

Well, people were definitely outside a lot more often in those days. However Jesus was Jewish not many Hebrews now a days are that dark skinned. I think a more accurate description would be that he was tanned. He was a handiman, so he wouldve worked outside all the time like most other people back then. They are tanned more than they are dark skinned.
