  • A very good lesson in observation, ill have to remember that since I like collecting antiques, incase I should run into any chinese ceramics that I find in a antique store It would help to know as much as possable in what to look for in such, though im sure there are more things that help deturmine when a ceramic or anything for that matter was made.

  • Thanks, I also have interest in making attractive websites, antique study is just one of my hobbies.

  • @ArmstrongHe I have a little blue vase with a strange stamp on the buttom. It had been a gift from a missionary to my great-great-grandmother around 1850-1890 from China. Could you recommend a webside or catalogue to determine the insignia? Thanks

  • any modern porcelain can be made to look like the old with the same techniques applied to ancient art.

i have been collecting modern blue white porcelains and they are so cheap here and they look expensive.
