i agree with you :) i got fasciculations all over my body, for year and a half now or longer ... probably also caused from something but who knows what .. alot of people just get it at some moment in their life and stays there for a long time. and dokters just always act like its stress while its not a known cause. hypothyroid - high cholesterol,... went to a cardiologist he said my heart was fine and i did not really have a too high blood pressure but my dokter gave it me 1.5 years ago.

My ex girlfriend did an Alkaline Diet, high veggies no sugar not even fruit, moderate protein and her SEVERE lupus symptoms were almost gone within 3 weeks. I say this because this type of alkaline diet is supposed to dramatically help all kinds of illness including diabetes. Gotta be willing to give up pizza though and many other yummy foods, thats the downside. Best of luck Allie, Peace.

Since you apparently have type 1 diabetes you should get tested for celiac disease. It's another autoimmune disease. It causes "leaky gut" and sometimes gi symptoms.

I hear you. Diabetes is merciless and it sucks. It's ruined my life. Just being honest.

Lol, The blood sugar is like the most important thing for a diabetic, and you dont want them to focuse on that?
If i got low blood sugar, I could faint and possibly go into a koma, And if I got to high blood sugar, pretty much the same, So I dont understand your problem with that, Explain?

just before I was diagnosed with type 1 and couldn't believe how much weight I lost, and how sick I looked, no body at the time knew what was wrong with me, this is something I don't remember but it was interesting to hear.

"But the true obscenity would be diabetes not being cured because of money" How true this is Allie.
Tonight I had a little family get together with my Uncles and Aunts, my uncle has type 2 and we got talking about diabetes and he was telling me when he saw me one day (years ago)
Blood sugar is the aftermath of something getting lost in translation between the alpha, beta, delta, and gamma cells. I do not support ignoring glucose control. To do this MORE EFFECIVELY we must identify what causes the disruption of balance between the alpha, beta, delta and gamma cells. Alpha prevents LOWS. Beta prevents HIGHS. Gamma is like a hold button -- keep bg steady. The Gamma cells trigger hunger if cells need fuel or satiety if cells are satisfied.

Hey dsharpe15, I have not received any BCG. I have been to Dr. Faustman's Lab to donate my Type 1 blood. Phase 2 is estimated to begin mid 2009, and will administer small doses to chosen participants. Dr. Faustman and her team are still working out the protocol but it will definitely make for a groundbreaking year in science for 2009!

Latest news from Dr. Faustman's Lab is Phase 1 is moving along swimmingly... Phase 2 is anticipated to begin mid-year 2009. The next leg of funding will cost $25 million. The amount is obscene -- but the true obscenity would be diabetes not being cured because of money.
