My first year gardening result. Potted or boxed with water reservior, the garden is weed free and I hope I can move part of it indoor when winter comes.

  • I love your garden. Your plants are very productive!

I am glad to see that you are putting in a melon patch. Post a vid and let us see how it turns out.

Also, perhaps I wasn't paying attention but there were three things missing from your garden.

the first two are potatoes and corn. They are both VERY easy to grow and they are big producers from my experience.

Lastly, you should look into a grape vine. I have 6 vines, 4 different varieties. I get about 20 lbs of fruit off each vine.

  • Thanks. Sure, I will post a video about our melon patch. You are correct, we havn't try potato and corn yet. Perhaps next year. We don't have space for grape vine in the backyard. Maybe we can use frontyard but we need to come out a good design for landcape.

  • You have an amazing garden, I'm sure you spend a good deal of effort on this. I know, last years harvest alone almost had me asking for help. I wonder, do you have to have help harvesting your crops?

  • We do not have this much that would need help to harvest. Sometimes we will ask friends to come and help themselves.

  • Beautiful! But how do you do to give all these plants water? I mean especially when its really hot for a long time, how do you do? And how much in time do you spend every day whith your plants?

  • I use the following methods:

    1. Add a water reservior at the bottom of the container. Do not drill holes at the bottom but at sides in the lower part of the pot. Raise the soil above the holes.

    2. For pots with holes at the bottom, put a plastic buket or bowl at the bottom and cover the top with a piece of metal mesh.

    3. Add water absorbing crystals into soil.

    4. Place a water bottle with small holes at bottom.

  • I'll bet that this video could be 100 times better if the maker would get rid of the music and tell us all about his or her garden.

  • this is like garden porn!

  • First year?! Ok, where did get the magic powders :) Love the music too. It fits well with the plants. Amazing :)

  • WOW!!! That moved me! For me that is the most inspirational post I have ever seen!!! Thank you! I'm starting mine now that I've seen that. WOW!!!

  • Wow! Your garden is simply beautiful. I love, love, love all the flowers mixed in with the vegs. I would have loved to hear what type of flowers you use and why you pick them and put them where you did. I know certain flowers are good for attracting certain insects and keeping some away from the other plants. Thank you for sharing. :0) I hope you have a video with more detailed information regarding your watering source. Sounds very interesting.

  • Beautiful Garden! But for those of us who don't have the space for a garden like this, I found The Bucket Garden is the answer. The Garden Master, a man of experience in the agriculture industry created a system for organic veggies with low watering, less time but still as productive. Enough to sustain a large family and more! Do your research on The Garden Master

  • besides putting a bucket in the bottom of the container, do you water by hand every day? it would seem like a lot of work just to water all the plants. And how do you raise the soil above the water resevoir? Is it mostly hot or cool in your climate?

  • nice

  • couldn't have picked worse music

  • wow i love it,better than my garden

  • Awesome thanks Im inspired, love the music
