Australian Magpie

Australian Magpies being fed and singing. Has taken a few months for them to build trust in us to come so close. A dominant family occupies the area. It consists of one male and two females. One has a back toe missing and she has always been the most anxious of the group - we don't know how the toe was lost and can only imagine it wasn't a great experience for her... hence her caution. There used to be two very confident female babies within the group but for some reason the elders attacked and pushed out one of the babies and for the past few weeks we have not seen her again which is quite sad.
