But of course you want them all and I dont to minimize Colin Powells endorsement, it means a great deal to those who listen to Colin Powell and follow him but must people follow their own heart and follow their own assessment of whats in their best interest.

If you look at John McCains proposals they relate to how to use the money thats already being appropriated by Congress hes saying up to 300 billion [of the bailout money] ought to be used to help people stay in their homes and thereby stabilize the mortgage market

Its in our national interest not to have the housing market totally collapse. This is not a painless matter. Those who have bet and lost are gonna find the governments not gonna bail them out.

We lose hundreds of thousands of businesses a year and new businesses take their place, its the creative destruction process that makes capitalism work.

If you apply what happened to preserve our monetary system, our financially system, and you say were gonna do that across the nation, boy wed be in real trouble but I think what you saw here instead was people on both sides of the isle recognizing that if banks across the nation massively go bankrupt and yu lose the value of money in our society, if markets are totally broken, thats a problem that goes well beyond saving a company, that goes to saving if you will the free market system if this same logic was taken beyond the world of finance into protecting every business in trouble , wed be in a real mess in this country.
