The Land Government of Lower Saxony (Germany) deported a Vietnamese family

Ngoc Lan, who is a Vietnamese daughter of full age, was separated from the rest of her family within a night.

by Han Hoa Huynh (translated by Qing Feng Huang)

The little brother Andre Bao An Nguyen has just become six years old. He was born in Germany and also speaks German with his parents and siblings only. Few days ago, the lively boy was looking forward to his 6th birthday. He observed the preparations of family Nguyen for his birthday in a very exciting way. He was also looking forward to his friends from the kindergarten, whom he invited. But then, something unexpected happened:
This story happened in a country which is known for its democracy. A land of poets and thinkers. A country in which political parties claim to be christian, liberal and social. This story happened in a constitutional democracy like Germany. Finally, this story proves that law prevails over humanity.

The family has been very exhausted from all the birthday preparations and went to sleep. In the mid of the night, state officials intruded into their home.

They came in the night of November 9, 2011

No, it is not the year 1938, it is the year 2011 - a fateful date.

Ngoc Lan (19 years old), who was separated from her family, told us what happened: "They came at 3 o'clock in the morning. It was two state officials (responsible for deportation), two policemen and a nurse. My parents had been allowed to pack up for one hour and at 4 a.m. or 4.15 a.m., they were transported to Frankfurt along with my little sister Esther (10 years old) and my little brother Andre Bao An. From that place, they were directly sent to Vietnam."

The Land Government of Lower Saxony is presenting Bao An with an uncertain future

On the day of his birthday, Bao An was sitting in the airplane to Vietnam, a country which he knows nothing about. In the meantime, we have heard that both siblings cannot cope with the situation in Vietnam and do not know how to handle it at all. Not only the language barrier seems to be a problem, but also the humid, warm climate and food.

Interior minister Uwe Schünemann has the possibility to unite the family once again. Mr. Schünemann, is the separation of a family compatible with the basic principles of the Christian-democratic party? Christmas will be held in six weeks. Maybe you will also be glad and happy, if family Nguyen is able to celebrate Christmas

Everyone can help. Please support the family, so they can become one again

We request the return of family Nguyen with the help of the committee of refugees.

The Christian-Liberal government in Lower Saxony (CDU/FDP) proves that families can also be united in the opposite way. We ask ourselves, whether the actions done by the Lower Saxony government is justified with reference to the basic principles of their party. We also ask ourselves, what position the current leader of FDP Philipp Rösler takes concerning this matter. Mr. Rösler, born in Vietnam, was also given all kinds of rights to grow up in a democratic country such as Germany. Why would family Nguyen have to return to Vietnam after having lived in Germany for 19 years, Mr. Rösler? The children of the family speak German and they are fully integrated, just like you, Mr. Rösler.
