one day (if not yet) they will be mentioned in the same sentences with mozart, elvis, iron maiden... all of them gods of music, just... well different music.
doesn't matter if one like this or that kind better, the fact is: it is great music, as well beautiful and remarkable art as touching somewhere deep in the souls. Doesn't matter if you bang your head to it, sit in front of an orchestra or have your mind in dreams on these sounds. just... enjoy it. that's what music is for.

I think my favourite Corries songs are when they used the combolins. Such a unique sound they had! As did Roy & Ronnie! I wish there was a video of The Dowie Dens O' Yarrow, that was the best!

I don't know if you know this but Roys friend Dave sinton uses the combolins on his album caledonina sunset and plans to use them again on his fourthcoming album. So there's a possiblity he could do concerts and use them.

I agree dogochoc, I love the sound of the drones too! Roy's combolins were beautiful. Such a talented musician for creating it himself. I know someone who would give anything for that instrument!
