  • Thanks for this post! How great this is.

  • @JasonLeonPike Don't mention it mate!

  • Thanks for posting. I've long been a Dregs fan and a SMB fan. Steve and Rod get most of the attention but Jerry, too, is phenomenal.

  • You're welcome. You know, i love Dave LaRue and Doug Morgan.. but this formation is great too, sometimes even better.

  • Why is Jerry Peek not held up with other revered bassists i.e. Jaco, Stu and Billy! This guy was mesmerizing with awesome technique and more so a great sense of timing and musicality. If anyone knows of his body of work please share with us so that we can enjoy. Thanks for posting.

  • I remember seeing this on TV in 1984.

I was blown away. They are great.

  • How did I not know about this band? WTF sounds Killer!

  • Oops, Rush - Spirit of Radio here 3:03

  • dang,right? i just love/hate these guys-haha

  • @bigtimmy1100 I think it's more about Steve's touring schedule than anything else. Except for a small period of time when he was a commercial pilot, Steve basically spends all his time on the road playing gigs. He's been the lead guitarist for Deep Purple since 1994, which takes up the bulk of his time. That being said, he's made time to make an album with Sarah Spencer, play the Irdium Club in NYC, NAMM, and generally make good use of his time between tours with DP. Miss him and SMB terribly.

  • Crimes against musical humanity: 1) No Steve Morse and Co. in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. To be expected I guess, any org that hasn't included RUSH yet can't be seen as completely credible

  • I perfectly understand that everyone has different musical tastes and we all must respect that. However, if I had my way I would hijack the airwaves during say, American Idol or America's Got Talent and everyone would be subjected to a series of Steve vids (Dregs, Kansas, Steve Morse Band) just so everyone could finally realize what talent means. Not all would care for the style, but c'mon, the skill, precision and sheer musicality. Call it a reeducation perhaps.

  • I think I know why Steve has played with such a select group of musicians, obviously despite his absolute kindness, I think he just intimidates the hell out of so many musicians that he sticks with those in his class. I believe he would play with anyone, any garage band and have a blast and thank you profusely for the opportunity. He's got such class, but I think everyone is scared to death of him except those in his special place in the stratosphere. Thoughts anyone?
