Actually, Michael was definitely deeply in love with Diana. I don't think he ever really got over her.
When Diana married the Norwegian, Michael was totally pissed and refused to attend the wedding. Michael talked about that in his biography. He said he was very jealous and that he would always be in love with her. I'm sure he was. He wanted Diana to care for his children if is mother was unable to.

The memories of Diana and Michael I always treasured because they really loved each very dearly. It shows when they are holding each other, unlike the other one like tatum, brooke, lmp he was barely touching them. They would have been in his will splitting 3 ways with his children. But Diana will have all three of his kids if anything happens to Katherine. Catch My Drift!
