Because Adam fell, sin entered into man and is passed down to us. So, although we contain good virtues like love and honesty we also have deceitfulness and other sinful natures. The only way for us to be redeemed back to God is by believing that He is the only God and Savior, that Christ has died on our behalf so that we might be saved.
