@1952kid Which is why the poodles that come in to the shelter I work at are the WORST dogs ever and 9/10 pits are the sweetest, most amicable dogs I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Training works, so long as it's consistent.

@superflychy Yeah I own a APBT, but I know many people who actually call their APBT a Staffie type and not a Pit Bull, just in case. Especially if they are in a place they aren't sure about their policies or such. I have seen dogs who aren't even Bully Breeds be categorized as Pits JUST because they bit someone. :/ BSL is ridiculous, so are the people who believe the hype.

@superflychy American Pitbull Terrier people are not happy with the term at all. They have legimatley papered dogs and like them to be called APBTs. Am Staff breeders do not want they're dogs called pitbulls either. It's a slippery slope when one umbrella covers all these dogs and trys to lump them in as one breed.

@RoscoTheRat Welcome to BSL. In Lake County Indiana the BSL describes "pit bull type" dogs. So officer friendly can be reporting a dog bite look at a dog and say "that's a pitbull" when the dog is more likely a lab mix. My dogs are both pitty mixes but considered pitbulls.

@superflychy Yeah you are correct. Three breeds are technically a "Pit bull" (Staffies being one), but now a days anything can be a "Pit Bull", and "Pit Bull" isn't an actual breed.

@RoscoTheRat He was dually registered as a Staffie and a Pit. Today if you want to do that you must first register with AKC (Staffi) as they will not allow Pit Bulls to be dually registered as Staffs. You have to UKC them second(or so I've read)
