The state of Missouri is facing a budget crisis, as the recession pushes more people to need social services such as food stamps, unemployment, and health insurance coverage. At the same time, state revenues are falling, leaving Missouri with less money, even as costs increase. Our guests are Amy Blouin (Missouri Budget Project), Rita Dongas (AFSCME Council 72), and Bradley Harmon (Missouri State Workers Union/CWA 6355).

Depression, it's a Depression, not a Recession. Depression is when the economy has a 10% rate of unemployment or 3 years of negative or zero growth. Free market economists argue that we now have 22% unemployment. With 38.2 million Americans now on food stamps, we can call it a Depression now. My parents are in MO, how is MO working to get out of the Depression?
