"A Fire in a Dovecot" is set against the backdrop of the 1965-Watts Riots. The film deals with a 17 year-old Caucasian girl named Elizabeth that becomes pregnant by her African-American boyfriend during this time of civil unrest. In an era when interracial relationships were absolutely forbidden and abortion was outlawed, Elizabeth must make a decision that will change her life forever.
