http://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=97921 If you live along the southern states in the USA, its getting time to plant your potatoes. Potatoes are an easy crop to grow, they are easy to store, easy to cook, and sure are good to eat.

Plans are to show the planting, growing and harvesting of potatoes from start to finish. This should be the first video in a whole series dedicated to gardening.

  • Does one eye = one potato after harvest?

  • @thomastholin - no, one eye grows a whole plant that can make several potatoes

  • Your serious?....! holy shit I thought this was a joke

  • @GeorgePharaon - what did you think was a joke?

Hopefully, the potatoes will get planted tomorrow.

  • you said you were going to buy more. are planning a large harvest or are all the potatoes you are cutting in the video not likely to grow?

  • @kumquatsta - My family and I are planting a community garden for 3 families to share. The next few gardening videos will show the planning and planting of the garden.

  • That serrated knife you have there is fine for slicing but not so good for just cutting by pushing it through the potato. You're going to cut yourself sooner or later.

  • good video

  • @crazy650c VERY TRUE. Always use the right knife. You got it! ^5!

  • @fukkboii LOL, I've done that years years ago. it was beautiful house plant. I think it was red potatoes.

  • @barndler ....no he used wrong knife. it's more like steak knife but not for vegetable. suppose to use vegetable knife. you will see the big different.

  • Hi, I noticed you used the wrong knife to cut your potatoes. Very true, this is how we survived when we living on a farm, my grandpa Izzo always saved pepper seeds, tomtoes seeds, whatever the vegetable have seeds that can plant again. EVEN now, I am still doing it.

  • Do you have any relation to Ron Swanson from Humble, Texas? His son is a close friend of mine and you remind me of him a lot. If I recall, in another video you said you live in his neck of the woods too.

Either way, thanks a lot for all your videos. I love how detailed you are, showing examples several times so inexperienced folks can really get a feel for what you're talking about and the way you explain your thought process so people can judge how or if your advice should apply to them.

  • This is great. I've just started planting vegetables this year, and I needed something just like this - where someone can explain how to plant in easy steps. Thanks for making these vids - gonna check out the rest of your videos.

  • Great vid, just gatta say love the way this guy says soil. Lol

  • @survivalistboards: huh! lol! that's a great idea.thanks! i think i'm gonna start my own potato garden.
