Open Verdict In De Menezes Case
The jury at the inquest into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes have returned an open verdict - but rejected nearly all of the police version of events into his killing.

"After three months of evidence, 100 witnesses and millions of pounds, the coroner, Sir Michael Wright, has presided over a complete whitewash," a family statement, released through the Justice4Jean campaign group, said.

A tragic set of circumstances, however I feel that this inquest should point the finger towards the powers that be, rather than the officers involved in the shooting. Operation Kratos specifically states that officers are to shoot to kill without warning. Kratos was applied correctly to the circumstance made apparant by the forward intelligence officers, the firearms officers should not be held accountable for the bad intel they were given.
