In this video we show you how to hook up a mixer to your Apple Macintosh Computer. For this video we used a MacBook 2.0Ghz and a Behringer Xenyx 802 Mixer.

For this simple podcasting setup on the Mac you will need the following:
Mixer
Microphone (XLR or 1/8 inch plug)
2 Quarter inch to 1/8 inch cables (The red and white in the video)

In the next part of this video we will show you how to set up GarageBand for this setup.

  • @ChrisAlexanderVEGAS no you can't you need a XLR or 1/4 microphone cable

  • Everything in this video is correct but you want to use a XLR microphone cord, not 1/4 inch (or 1/8 inch as he says)

  • Goood. Good work thanx!

  • @torawfordiz no lol

  • @bbp12345678910 same did u ever get a reply

  • @ThatMacShow So, I followed the directions of this video and for some reason GarageBand won't pick up the new audio channel. Any tips? Am I doing something wrong? Someone told me I need a USB mixer, but this video and several other sources say otherwise.

  • @ThatMacShow can you use a usb mic for the mixer

  • @bluedog916 You can get RCA to 3.5mm which does work fine but going from the Mixer to Laptop but I would recommend using Quarter inch to 3.5mm since You can control Levels
