I have enjoyed Katia from the Calgery 1988 Olympics on. She and Sergei were magical. I saw them perform together many times and was always mesmerized by their chemistry, charisma and powerful beauty on ice. I saw Katia perform numerous times as a solo skater and should not have been surprised how entertaining she was as a singles. I vividly remember her first pair with Ilia, Denis Petrov and Elene Bechke. It was clear right away that she had something special with Ilia. Wonderful moments.

She has a quality about her figure skating that most other female and pair skaters don't have. the only other female skater I saw with the same quality as her was Michelle kwan. She's a strong skater with a lot of power, but when she does a program that calls for grace and softness, she has the same grace and delicacy as Katia. They don't rush their movements like a lot of other skaters, they're very fluid I find.

Truly the most beautiful lady to ever grace the world of figure skating. Katia is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out.

Katia is very beautiful and talented. She has been commercially successful as a result. She does have that princess look about her.

An absolutely lovely tribute to Katia's courage and triumph over heartbreaking tragedy. She did, indeed, 'make it through the rain.' Truly inspiring.

All of that footage was either from U.S. broadcasts or available on various websites (or both). What did you not recognize? Maybe I can help id it (I wouldn't want you to miss out on any footage!) :) They actually get a LOT less footage of her in Russia (or Europe) than we do here. She hadn't skated in Russia since Sergei's death up until about five years ago.
