  • Hi Eiretrains ,

I just enjoyed watching vid of yours & my personal fave, would have to be the ole orange irish trains, coz there's something magical about been on one & sticking your head out the window. (When no other train is coming on the other track) Cheers for the memory...

  • @IRISHIONA Thanks, yes unfortunately you can't stick your head out on the trains we have nowadays!

  • Do they still bring ballast on this line??

    When was this video taken??

  • Yes they still occasionally bring ballast Navan. The video was taken sometime in2007.

  • Great video mate. The 071 is without doubt the most beautiful diesel locomotive ever built and to top it all off the noises it makes are brilliant. Some of them sound like their on their knees with the loads they're pulling and its great oh and also when they're pulling out going through gears they make a great thuding sound with a real high pitched whir. Top class brings back great childhood memories of the freight trains coming up from the docks every 15 mins. at night going down the country

  • do you still use the same freight trains, with the flat cars?

  • those locos sound a lot like the class 67 british rail when departing

  • They should go back to using more freight trains they have loads of 201 class just sitting up in inchicore since railcars do most off the passenger work now

  • Some locos appeareed to go through a signal on Red, ???

  • Hi c, dunno how I missed this one, super vid 5stars!

  • Well they were built by General motors lol.

    These engines always sounded great.

  • Irish locos look like yank built locos
