أنتم اليوم في الدور
و غدا ستكونون من سكان القبور
فيا أيها المغتر بصحته, أما رأيت ميتا بغير سقم؟
و أيها المغتر بطول المهملة, أما رأيت مأخوذا بغير علة؟
و الله! ستبيت في القبر وحدك
و سيباشر التراب خدك
و ستنهش الديدان لحمك و عظمك
و ستبقى رهين عملك
فاعتبر بمن مات قبلك, و ربي ستندم
و ربي ستندم على تفريطك في صلواتك
و ستندم على ضياع أوقاتك
و لن ينفعك الندم
أواه..... آه..... أواه
والقلب يذوب بشكواه
ودموع الذنب تبلله
والكمد يعاود لأواه
في ليل الذنب مضى عمر
صحراء الذل حظاياه
وتعيش الروح به ولهى
أن تنجو أملاً ترعاه
تزود من الذي لا بد منه
فإن الموت ميقات العباد
و تب مهما جنيت و أنت حي
و كن متنبها قبل الرقاد
ستندم
ستندم إذا رحلت بغير زاد
و ستشقى عندما يناديك المناد
أ ترضى أن تكون رفيق قوم
لهم زاد و أنت بغير زاد؟
قال الحارث بن إدريس:
قلت لداوود الطائي أوصني.
قال: عسكر الموت ينتظرونك!
والآن تراه على هون
معترفاً بوحٌ نجواه
والآن يرجّي إصباحاً
في نور يشرق يهواه
من بعد الران غشى قلباً
يكسوه سواد خطاياه
بجنابك يرجو مرحمة
ظمآنٌ غفرانك ماه
أتراه يعود ببغيته
أتراه يعود برجواه
رباه بجاهك فارحمه
رباه ضعيف رباه

Today, you reside in houses
And tomorrow you shall be among the residents of the graves
You, the one who's very happy about his health. Haven't you ever seen a dead with no illness?
And you, the one who's very happy about the long duration. Haven't you ever seen someone who was taken without a cause?
By Allah! You will lie in your grave alone!
And the dust will stain your cheek!
And the worms will eat through your flesh and bones!
And you will remain a hostage of your own deed!
Learn from the ones who have passed before you, by God you shall regret
By God you shall regret wasting your prayers!
And you shall regret wasting your time!
And regret will be of no use!
Awah aah owah
The heart is wasting away with its grief
And the tears of misdeed are drenching it
While the affliction is returning again
In the darkness of guilt a life passed away
A life that gained a desert of degradation
and the soul lives in it restless
Nurturing it in hope of survival
Sustain yourself with what you should have
For death is the undeniable appointment of people
And repent while you're alive no matter what you've committed
And be mindful before the resting
You will regret
You will regret if you leave without a supply
And you will suffer when the caller calls you
Would you be satisfied if you accompany people who have a supply when you don't have any?
Al-Harith Ibn Idrees said:
I asked Dawud At-Taa'e to give me an advice.
He said: Death's soldiers await you!
Now you see it reluctantly,
Confessing what its hiding
Now it hopes for a dawn, in a light that's rising inside of it
after a time in which the heart was covered with the darkness of its sins
It seeks mercy in Your glory,
It's thirsty, and Your forgiveness is its water
Will it return with its purpose?
Will it return with its plea?
O God! Bestow your mercy on it
Your weak slave O God!
