  • What I have shown is a Roti or Phulka. The one with folds is called Chappati in the south and Paratha in the north. Stuffed ones are still called parathas though not folded.

    The general suggested thickness of the Roti (before putting on tawa)is slightly thicker than that of a Compact Disk (CD). It should be rolled evenly for better results and it comes by practice over a period. Don't worry.

    Use a wire mesh or wodden tongs to show it to the flame. In the next trip to India buy one chatram!!!

    chapati othetappudu meeru folds pettaledu, ayina pongaayi...enta thickness undaali roti...naaku pongatledu..ofcourse i dont have a chatram..
