  • @fonseca a lot of what he wanted to do was blocked by the city council. the council would not even look at or consider his proposals, so if he was not as effective as he could have been that may have to do with it.

  • Who ya gonna call? Mayor Harold! fi fi fo- fo fo fi fi :)

  • HAROLD , MAN DON'T WE NEED YOU NOW !!! GLAD TO HAVE LIVED IN YOUR LIFETIME R.I.P SHINING

  • Harold Washington, one of the best big city mayors this country has ever produced.

  • He seemed like a very nice man, very genuine. He just wasn't as good a mayor as Daley is.

  • @MrNSBianchi The machine was not all white by any means, and that's why the

machine was successful. Daley was smart enough to give out pieces of the pie to other groups. (His son does not make a pimple on his father's elbow.)

  • @FatherTomasino Yes. This is the truth. He set a good example, even to those who opposed him, and his untimely death was a great loss.

  • Harold Washington

  • @FatherTomasino Racism is reality in and of itself its divisive. Nevertheless, I should Hon. Washingtons hand when I was in 6th grade! Never forget it!!
