The Kyle Conrad song was written, edited, and produced by A-PO (Adam Powell), Video edited by Justin Bootsie (J-Buzzi).

A star soccer player at Lynn University Bachelor's, master's & online degrees died early Saturday and one of his teammates was injured after both fell from a railroad bridge in the early morning hours Saturday in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Kyle Conrad, a 21-year-old senior from Jensen Beach studying sports management, was pronounced dead, according to Lynn University spokesman Joshua Glanzer. He said Joe Cundall, a 21-year-old senior studying business administration, was treated and released from Broward General Medical Center.

Conrad's death was the latest tragedy for the university this year. Four students and two faculty members were among the estimated 250,000 killed in Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti. The university is making available grief counselors and its campus ministry for those mourning Conrad's death, Glanzer said.

"Our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends," Glanzer said. "Obviously, we're shocked and saddened. He's a great student here at Lynn. He did very well at the school. He's liked by everybody. The whole campus is really upset by this."

The accident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on a railroad bridge above the New River at the Las Olas Riverfront entertainment complex, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little.

One man, whom Lynn officials identified as Conrad, fell from the bridge into the water. Emergency responders arrived, searched the river and found him about 10 minutes later, Little said.

Paramedics rushed him to Broward General, but their "attempts to resuscitate him weren't successful," Little said. Another man, later identified as Cundall, was found hanging from the bridge's trestle.

No additional details about the incident were available Saturday. Officials has not released a cause of death.

The Palm Beach Post in 2007 named Conrad its boys soccer Player of the Year after he graduated with a 3.59 GPA in high school and earned a soccer scholarship to Lynn University. He volunteered at his church and finished his high school career in Jensen Beach with 143 goals and 43 assists.

In a 2007 article from The Palm Beach Post, he was quoted saying he valued his high school soccer teammates. "I'm going to remember these guys forever," Conrad said at the time. "I loved having the chance to start everything new, start new traditions."

During the past four years at Lynn, Conrad has won similar accolades for his soccer talent. For example, The Miami Herald in October reported that he became just the fourth player in school history to score 100 career points.

Conrad was "looking forward" to completing his classes this semester, Glanzer said.

Cundall was born in Dewsbury, England, and similarly has been a standout player at Lynn. According to the team's website, he started all 19 games for the Fighting Knights his junior year and was a key player on a defense that posted seven shutouts and allowed just over a goal per game.

"This affects the whole community, and we just hope that everyone can come together at this time," Glanzer said.

He was just a great individual who inspired me (A-PO) to give everything in life a chance and how to see the good in every thing that I do.
