why did you roll to cast magic missle? you dont roll to cast a spell unless it calls for it like short range touch attack.

I was playing teh DnD and I cast magic missile but I rolled teh 1 and we use a critical miss deck, so I had to attack my own teammate with it, but she had low hp and it killed her o-o
