You're right...the Lord is more than enough. He is the only one who can fill our every need and deepest desire. And although He is the only one we truly need, God also desires for us to need each other, to build fellowship.
Think back to Genesis, when before the fall Adam and the Lord walked hand in hand. Adam had everything He could ever desire, he had God! Yet the Lord decided even still, that it was "not good for man to be alone". So He gave him Eve. Fellowship. Community. It glorifies Him!
