@SLPIFan I hadn't even thought of Catwoman. When you put it that way, this is The Dark Knight by comparison to those disasters. It's such a shame that female characters get shafted so much in this genre. They're either miscast, ineffectual or lazily written to be nothing more than love interests for the male characters or mere eye candy for the audience.

It's sad to say, but this is probably the best of the female superhero films we have currently which is really not saying much. Really all we have to compare it to are Catwoman and Supergirl, and those are more abysmal than this.

The real Elektra never knew her mother, who was sleazey, arrogant, and a complete bitch! she died soon after giving birth to Elektra.

This is pretty irrelevent to the plot, but it annoyed the hell out of me how the girl's father was named "Mark Millar." I was only mildly annoyed in Daredevil when "Miller & Bendis" were mentioned as boxers, and I even kinda liked that there was a rapist named "Jose" Quesada, but it's really frickin' distracting when one of the MAIN CHARACTERS is an in joke!
