The POV i think ya'll have been waiting for.
[Joe's POV]
I paced around the room, my hands grabbing at my short hair. It's been 5 minutes since we got off the phone with Demi's doctor. "How could this happen? How could we be so irresponsible?" I asked still pacing. Demi was sitting down watching me, not phased about any of it. "Did you know?" I asked looking at her, she shook her head. "So you didn't have the slight feeling that you were pregnant? All the throwing up?" I asked stress clearly showing.
"Joe, I didn't know. You know what I went through. I was scared to think my old habits were coming back. Being pregnant was the last thing on my mind," she said. "So was protection," I smartly retorted. "Joe, that isn't fair and you know it!" She pointed her finger towards me standing up. "How could something that simple slip our minds?" I asked. She shrugged, "not good enough, Demi," her eyes squinted. "Joe, it was lust. I'll admit I did miss my period this month, but I thought nothing of it. Irregular periods happen to everyone," she sighed. "How could we be so stupid to not think about the consequences?" I asked. "What are trying to say, Joe? That night we made love was stupid? Are you trying to say that?" She asked raising her brow.
I shook my head, "no, I'm trying to say that it was stupid of us to not use protection. I'm not ready for a baby. Not right at the peak of releasing my Solo Album soon," she looked at me, shocked at what I said. "So what you told Seacrest was pretty much bullshit?" She asked with tiny hints of anger in her voice. "No," I simply replied back. "Are you ready to marry me, Joe?" She asked. I looked at her, "yes, I am. I love you Demi," she shook her head. "Well, then you too have to face the consequence of what's growing inside of me. Whether you're ready or not!" I heard the door slam meaning she went to her room.
I sat down on the couch. My mind racing. Demi was pregnant. Oh how everyone is gonna get a kick out of this. After a while of thinking I stood up and walked to Demi's room. "Demi," I could hear her sobbing. I walked over to her and tried to hug her but she pushed me away. "No," she said looking at me. "Demi.." I trailed off. "Joe, you don't want this. If you don't then you should just leave. Take your ring back, go back to your small apartment and leave," I couldn't believe what she was saying. She didn't want to marry me anymore? "Demi, what are you saying?" I asked, "you don't want a baby. Why bother being with me? I'm only going to slow you down. So go, go tour, go date beautiful women and have a family at your own pace."
"Demi," I tried to talk, but she wouldn't let me. "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE AND FUCK OFF!" She screamed, tears falling down her cheeks. She pushed me away, handing me the ring. "Go," she said coldly holding on to her pillow.
What was happening right now? I was going to tell her I will try for her, because I love her. I looked down at the ring and walked out. I put it on her kitchen bench before putting my jacket on and grabbing my keys. Leaving her apartment.
