  • Wow! Both of my grandfathers worked construction during the building of the cyclone. My Dad would bring lunch down to his father who worked operating the ride. We where poor grew up on North Shore Rd just behind the cyclone. Every summer night falling asleep listening 2 the distant yelling crowds. The clickety click as the cars crawled up, up the tracks ascending the big rise. Then the big whoosh, screams of delight descending. Next was the fast, hairpin turns. Then all to quickly, it was over.

  • That rollercoaster was torn down in the early 70's wasn't it? I remember as a kid going by there with my parents. Didn't it sit for some time before being taken down??

  • @EFT4MeDebi ... how beautiful it'd be for Bostonians to have that nowadays. Thanks for sharing. Vivid.

  • What a shame to have such a beautiful roller coaster left to decay

  • @bvgus Yes I was thinking Paragon Park and Nantasket beach

  • @dolfanatic314 I think you mean the Paragon park coaster. This coaster was torn down which was a shame, it was a wild ride !!

  • Wow! Thanks for this. I never new it was there until so recently. I'd had the impression it was all torn down in the 1940s. Thanks for the education. It makes me sad, really.

  • @EFT4MeDebi

It was torn down and rebuilt at another park I think it is in Maryland now.

  • OMGosh, my Grandfather also worked on the Cyclone!

The first time I rode it, 13 times in a row.....

    Miss "the beach"

  • I sat in the parking lot of the night club on the on Wonderland circle and watched it burn.

  • was born in lynn, and spent a LOT of time screaming to my mom and dad to get me on the coaster...i was too little.....i still remember the onion rings and fried clams......playing in the arcade.......
