Even after teaching this for 10 years I was unable to give an example of multiplication - - = + For multiplication doesnt occur in nature :( With plussing and minusing its easy, just say "Isnt minusing away your DEBT a positive thing?" But Its harder with multi.
For now all we can say is since plussing and timesing follow the same rules of associative and distributive, they have to follow all the other same rules as each other too.
