The BSA's Adventure Base 100 made a stop at the Carowinds theme park that straddles the NC/SC border just south of Charlotte NC on March 9th-11th, 2010. The Mecklenburg County Council and the Palmetto Council of the Boy Scouts of America joined in an effort to host a huge Scout Expo on the grounds surrounding the Adventure Base exhibit.
There were so very many excellent exhibits by scouting units, districts the Order of the Arrow, National Jamboree Troops and more that those passing by and through the area couldn't help but know that scouting was alive and well at age 100. I suspect that many units will pick up members from some of the families that were introduced to scouting at this event.
This footage is from the Fort Mill, SC area's local cable news coverage of the event. Troop 108, featured prominently in this footage, is a 65 year old troop sponsored by Unity Presbyterian Church from Fort Mill, SC.
Haha, the Scout show part was so crowded.
