I unearthed this rare treasure from my dusty video collection. It is the information channel loop that was broadcast at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels during the mid to late 1980's.

  • I miss River Country. Will it be back?

  • The water is not sanitary.

  • I love the voice inflection used at the time, and how there was no Russia in Epcot.

  • There were plans to open a Russian pavilion in World Showcase. The concept renderings for it indicate that it would have been made to resemble Moscow's Red Square. However, all of these plans were cast aside as the Soviet Union had begun to collapse. Other potential pavilions such as Brazil, Israel, Spain, and Equatorial Africa met the same fate.

  • Wow!!! Thank you very much for posting. It's awesome but how did this get in your video collection? :)

  • I recorded it when I was 7 years old. My family and I were staying at one of the resort cottages near the Disney Inn.

  • Disney parks still have plenty of dignity. It's the Disney Channel that's been raped and left for dead >>

  • This was before The Little Mermaid...

    Before Aladdin....

    Before Beauty and The Beast...

    Before The Muppets...

There was this video info. about Walt Disney World.

  • Use your money-saving multi day world passports.Oh how I do wish those were back. Some little young money hungry guru one day figured out, that they could break down the world passports into single tickets and then charge extra for the no expiration option and the park hopper option. Now we the "in the poorhouse" guests get the elegance of paying out the nose for these 2 options that were once included in the purchase of the passport.GREED I say nothing but GREED! BTW,I love your video.howd you tp

  • Those guides are still at my parents place in a drawer somewhere...I think the mid-'80s where the best times in Disney...

  • Just out of curiosity, how were you able to record this; did the TVs at the Disney resort have a VCR hooked up? And you just happened to have some blank videotapes? lolz. WDW seemed much simpler back then.

  • @PTH4Fun haha the Muppets were on TV in the late 60's and 70's But they were with another company

  • This is so awesome, thanks for sharing this video.

  • WDW was so awesome even back then.

  • Ha ha!!! I was actually there in 1987 and have those guides!!!! This is such a wonderful video! I love having these channels on when I stay at the resorts...I wish I can still watch them when I get home. Thank You sooooo much for this Excellent Video!

  • I was in the dark about theme parks until I checked out bestvaluethemeparks (.) com
