@potato2442 I'am from Texas and many Texans aswell as me hate Rick Perry and the last thing we need is a second Civil War. I think people don't know what kind of suffering and loss took place in the Civil War and what these solider went through. Battles horribly bloody and life of a soldier was marching, starving, and suffering every day and a battle every now and then loosing more and more friends every time. People need to respect both sides because neither was fightin for slavery or freedom.

The southern boys grew up with guns and were better soldiers in the beginning then the city boys from the North and their generals were 100x better but quit changing history. The South fought to preserve their #1 moneymaker which was SLAVERY....END OF STORY! Southern people trying to change history are as bad as the Japs who only focus on how bad the Atomic bombs were and ignore Pearl Harbor or the millions they tortured to death.

Anybody who is like "yeah the south will rise again" are you fucking stupid nobody wants some modern day pointless civil war with rick perry a dumbass leading them, just because you were born in the south doesnt mean you got to be all rebelious and faggots, you had no involvment in the civil war besides you live in america right now so fuck you if you want to leave america which we fought so hard to get independence from the british then move to mexico you spick

@TheCalhounboys How's that blessing working out? CSA doin' good?
-
@keithehlert Also there were more slave owners fighting in the Union army than the Confederate . The Confederate officers would often state how none of the soldiers in the army fought for slavery or even stated that they were doing so , even Robert E Lee made the remark that the war was not over slavery .
-
@keithehlert Truth be told, many Southerners didn't own slaves - but the war was indeed about preserving slavery. The other 97% were fighting for the idea that one day, they could indeed own slaves. Many of the poor whites fought simply because the freedmen would compete with them for meaningless jobs, and others fought simply because the slaves were on the lowest rung of the social order, and the whites above them on the ladder wanted to keep them down.

Wonderful to see the Feds dying in their own crater. They are now trying to push an invasion of Iran. Wonder if they will be caught in a similiar "crater"?
-
i know its not mainly a civil war movie but that was one of the best and bloodiest civil war battle seen that i ever saw, oh and god-bless the CSA
-
they wernt made out to be the bad guys, as inman (spelling?) journeys home he meets plenty of evil people. many of whom are southerners.
-
@ItNice26 whih civil war? chinese, english, american, russian...
-
Anyone find it funny in a bad way how half the comics are racist on this video? You're all assholes, neither side was right, and God loves everyone.
-
Good God, what a horrible fight.
-
@CobaltX07 Yup. But good old General Meade didn't want to be told he was racist and sent 'em in to die. Idiot.
-
@keithehlert Unfortunately, the war was started primarily over slavery.
-
The saddest part is the Union had black soldiers trained to not be idiots and trained go around the crater as opposed to into the crater.
-
the south will rise again! YEW YEW YEW!! lol
-
Great scene. i just don't like how they made the Northerners out to be the bad guys.
-
I don't hate the southerners I'm actually studying stonewall jackson in class, but i mean have some empathy for the stupid northerners
-
its about what is important in life (love and family) vs the stupidity of civil war (or war in general) whereas this is the only battle scene you can see the savagery of it and in later scenes throughout the film you see people on both sides reduced to savages because of a war they no longer support or ever really understood
-
@Yeahbuddy8155 Why do you hate Southerners?
-
its cold mountain it has nothing to do with the civil war this is only the scene you see and 2 or 3 fights between skirmishes in the movie its about love :D
8:37 Most powerful moment in the entire scene. Moment when two men, both oppressed and attacked by tyranny, are forced to fight each other. The native and the african, fighting for the preservation of a country that destroyed one, and enslaved the other.

@lxsosna
for your info, only 3.5 % of the southerners who fought them yankees even owned a slave, what do you think the other 97% were fighting for?
IT WAS'NT ABOUT SLAVERY,
states rights and the right to states to be free from tyranny...
if you are from the south as you say,you would know this!
