Nelle due settimane precedenti al 6 Maggio 2009, l'OMS ha confermato che 25 nazioni erano affette da Influenza Suina
e 31 persone ne erano morte. Ma i dati OMS dicono anche che 60000 persone, nello stesso periodo, erano morte di tubercolosi. Confrontando il numero di notizie dedicate alle due epidemie, il professor Hans Rosling, del Karolinska Institutet di Stoccolma, ha calcolato il "rapporto notizie per morto" e in questo filmato lancia un'allarme sul "caso mediatico" montato intorno all'influenza suina, denunciando al contempo la scarsa attenzione dedicata alla assai più letale epidemia di Tubercolosi.

  • It's quite true there's an excessive media coverage about this pandemic, but it has a ratio. NOW swine flu virus has a low mortality, even in comparison with the traditional flu, hower the swine flu is new and we have not an immune resistance to it and IF there's a variation in its genome, and it becomes more deadly, it can be more dangerous than TBC. In other words its threat is potential, rather than actual, but it is threatening anyway.
