Based on Japan's Iron Chef phenomenon, SIUC's Iron Chef Competition showcases 10 Southern Illinois teams as they battle to be the best in front of a live audience and be named "SIUC Iron Chef".
Only 7 teams were able to compete this year.
They were:
"RLC Top Chef": Rend Lake College culinary students
"Ice Cream": Chinese Students and Scholars Association
"Aqua Teen Hunger Force"
"The Winners": Undergraduate Student Government
"Kowlah": Malaysian Student Association
"Taste of Southeast Asia": Malaysian Student Association 2009 Champions
"Rice and Spice": Gaia House
The secret ingredient was sweet potato.
