After spending several hours precisely timing Charlie Parkers eighth and sixteenth notes, I have come to the conclusion that the dude can swing.

Cool video but would have been better if it were transcribed in Eb (alto key) rather than Bb (tenor/trumpet key). :)

G pedal means that the note G is sustained in the bass throughout the tune. The whole song is contrasted to that G.

The sheet music goes down to A. I can get a (quite sharp) A by covering half the bell, but not at these speeds (TFIC) :P
I guess the sheet music is in concert pitch and down an octave.
